Privacy Policy

Version of 15 September 2026

This describes what data WriRead collects, why it is needed and how to manage it. We collect only what the Service cannot work without.

1. What data we collect

Account data: name, username, email address, password (encrypted), avatar and profile description.

Usage data: published works, comments, bookmarks, follows, reading history and notification settings.

Technical data: device type, app version, language, anonymised error statistics.

Waitlist: first name, last name, role, email address and, optionally, a profile photo that you leave in the form on the site.

2. Why we need it

To show you the feed, deliver notifications, keep bookmarks, create a cover or certificate and answer your support request.

To notify those on the waitlist when the Service opens.

To improve the Service based on anonymised statistics.

3. Legal basis

We process data on the basis of your consent, to perform our agreement with you and in our legitimate interests — to keep the Service secure and to develop it.

4. Storage and protection

Data is stored on protected servers and transmitted over an encrypted connection. Only staff who need it for their work have access.

Account data is kept while the account exists. After the account is deleted, the data is removed within 30 days, unless the law requires keeping it longer.

5. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell data. Data may be shared with infrastructure providers (hosting, notification delivery, error processing) only to the extent needed for their services and under a confidentiality agreement.

6. Your rights

You can view, change or delete your data in the app settings, request a copy of your data or withdraw consent by writing to us.

You can delete your account in the settings — your password is required to confirm.

7. Cookie

The site uses cookies. Details in the Cookie Policy.
